Announced on their corporate blog, Ubisoft have hired four new team members, each of them coming from Telltale Games.
Telltale are well known for their narrative storytelling and due to the track record of the four new hires, it’s clear that Ubisoft San Francisco are looking to develop in this area.
One of the new team members is Dennis Lenart, a design director on the first season of the critically acclaimed Walking Dead series, as well as leading the team behind Minecraft: Story Mode. Nick Herman will also join the company, an industry veteran with over 40 shipped games in his back catalogue.
Pierre Shorette is a Narrative Director who found his feet writing one of Telltale’s unsung heroes, The Wolf Among Us. Shorette oversaw most of the writing on Telltale’s past and current projects before making the jump to Ubisoft. The final hire Adam Sarasohn shipped Tales from the Borderlands and has been responsible for training producers at Telltale.
Francois Pelland, Executive Producer at Ubisoft San Francisco had this to say about the new acquisitions “We are excited to welcome these strong industry veterans to our skilled team”
One of the studio’s current projects South Park: The Fractured But Whole recently received a year-long delay, so this could allow the new hires to work out some of the kinks, or work on some secret projects we might hear about during E3 2017.
