Whilst the first trailer for DICE’s upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II was supposed to debut during the Star Wars Celebrations this weekend in Orlando, it appears that a short thirty-second trailer has been leaked early.
Although the trailer doesn’t show any actual gameplay, it’s shown to have been developed using footage from the game’s engine.
Within this first thirty-second preview of the title, fans are shown a range of characters from throughout the Star Wars universe both from the prequel trilogy and The Force Awakens. Across the trailer, there are multiple cameo appearances from a variety of heroes and villains including Kylo Ren, Rey, Yoda, and Darth Maul.
Where DICE’s previous entry to the Star Wars franchise lacked a single player campaign, the trailer reinforces the belief that Star Wars Battlefront II will have a single player campaign showing off a female character who looks likely to be the lead protagonist.
Fans will be also pleased to see that the short clip teases some epic space battles in its closing moments. This was a feature that was notably missed from DICE’s first game and one that many fans will be pleased to see EA addressing in the sequel.
The trailer includes an option to pre-order a copy of Star Wars Battlefront II before release. It appears that in doing so players will gain exclusive access to an array of heroes from the upcoming eighth movie installment – Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Star Wars Battlefront II is expected to release later this year on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. For all the latest news and information on Star Wars Battlefront II, stick with us right here at Quillstreak!
