EA have finally revealed details surrounding Battlefront II in a two-minute long trailer that debuted today at the Star Wars Celebrations in Orlando. The short clip confirmed to fans that the title would feature a single-player campaign.

However, it may come as a surprise to some that the story will be centered around the empire. The main protagonist Iden Versio leads an elite team of special forces known as Inferno squad as she hopes to strike back against the rebel forces.

The narrative looks to be set sometime between the sixth and seventh installments of the film franchise as footage revealed Versio watching on from Endor as the Empire’s second Death Star is taken out by rebel scum.

As well as being able to take control of Iden and her squad, there will be playable cameo appearances from Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren throughout the campaign. EA were also keen to stress that this will be canon and coincide with the pre-existing story arch fulfilled by the films. For this reason, it seems safe to say that neither Ren nor Skywalker will be taking one or another out at any point during Battlefront II’s narrative.

In addition to the single-player, Star Wars Battlefront II will also have a fully fleshed out multiplayer mode, which is confirmed to span across all three of the franchise’s eras.

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 17.
