Capcom has just announced the Gold Edition of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, due for release on December 12th on PS4, Xbox One and PC. This brand new edition of the hit title will contain the full base game, both of the existing ‘Banned Footage’ DLC packs, access to all of the free add-on content (such as the ‘Not A Hero’ DLC, starring the all-too-familiar Chris Redfield), and the newly-announced ‘End of Zoe’ DLC pack, which explores the fate of Jack and Marguerite Baker’s daughter following the terrifying events of the game.

As described by Capcom themselves, the free ‘Not A Hero’ DLC:

explores events directly after Ethan Winters’ fight to escape from the twisted Baker family in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and offers a different take on survival horror. Join Resident Evil mainstay Chris Redfield as he battles his way through the horrors that lurk underneath the Baker’s mansion, fully prepared with new weapons and equipment designed to counter bio organic threats and navigate the maze-like caverns beneath the Baker mansion. Encounters with deadly foes lurk around every corner – including a new type of enemy.

As such, this will be an exciting DLC for hardcore fans of the Resident Evil series to invest their time into, expanding upon much of the core game and tying in one of the series’ most reputed characters. ‘Not A Hero’ will become available to all owners of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard as free add-on content, regardless of the edition owned, on December 12th.

Subsequently, the ‘End of Zoe’ DLC pack is set to take place “after the events of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and ‘Not a Hero’, and explores the fate of the Baker’s daughter” – finally revealing the truth of what happened to Zoe, and bringing all of the loose ends that fans have been wondering about for months together.

Depicting the swamplands of Louisiana where the DLC will be set, the below screenshot from Capcom gives us a sense of the kind of content the ‘End of Zoe’ is going to be – dark, foreboding, and endlessly creepy. It will build upon the events of the base game and make the Baker mansion seem friendly in comparison – could that body hanging from that tree be yours? You’ll just have to play and find out…!

For panicking owners of any of the existing Resident Evil 7: Biohazard editions: fear not! As with all of the existing DLC packs and add-on content, the newest ‘End of Zoe’ DLC pack will be available for purchase separately, and will become available on the same date as the Gold Edition’s release – December 12th. It will also be available as part of the Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Deluxe Edition and the Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Season Pass, so don’t worry – you’ll be able to find out what happened to Zoe Baker regardless of the edition you own!

Additionally, Capcom have confirmed that both the ‘End of Zoe’ and ‘Not A Hero’ DLC packs will support PlayStation’s PSVR system, serving to heighten the immersion and tension of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and making the experience of exploring the Baker Mansion and beyond even more terrifying. Will you dare to try battling the Moulded in virtual reality?
