Developer, aheartfulofgames have pushed their 3D brawler title, Heart&Slash onto the Nintendo Switch as of the 22nd of December 2017.
Heart&Slash, which came out last year on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 after a successful stint on Kickstarter, made it’s way onto the Nintendo Switch digitally on the 22nd of December 2017, bringing its classic looking, third-person, action packed, hack-and-slash style to the console.
It tells a story of a robot who wishes to be loved. A robot called Heart, attempting to get away from the evil and find love. The evil being QuAsSy (Quality Assurance Systems). Heart bumps into Slash, another robot with more violent plans in mind, and thus the battle to impress, Slash takes place.
With each rougelike permadeath, the player will respawn with different weapons, and different enemies to battle amongst the procedurally generated world. The title has up to seventy-five different weapons available and sixty different body parts to equip. There are also seventy-one missions, with six selectable characters, ninety-three types of enemies, and and one-hundred and thirty-five pieces of equipment in total.
Players will find themselves being able to control time, rip through the air with teleportation, and all other manners of combinations to complete missions and impress Slash. The way the story ends can also be changed depending on how the player chooses to approach the relationship between the two robots.
There is also due to be an update that will introduce, “Endless Dungeon Mode” to the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch versions of the title at a later date, despite being exclusively available to the PC edition currently. This will bring international combo and score rankings, and the ability to control Slash. Enemies will spawn in randomly generated stages and will come at the player in waves, getting progressivley harder to defeat the longer the player survives. In addition, players will also be rewarded with new weapons and items to aid them through the battles.
