The ingredients needed to make Githeri:
  • Mixture of beans and maize(pre boiled)
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • Pieces ginger and garlic (crushed)
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 hoho
  • Salt
  • Cooking oil
Steps to make Githeri:
  • First, ensure your beans and maize are boiled
  • In a sufuria, add your cooking oil and onions let it cook until it is a bit sweaty,then add your ginger and garlic and stir.
  • Add your tomatoes, let it cook for a minute, then add your carrots stir everything.
  • If you wish you can add spices of your choice or even chillies or chill pepper,then add the chopped hoho and salt
  • Add the mixture of beans and maize, stir everything to together add a bit of warm water not too much in order for it not to be watery.
